Why This Role Matters

The Incoming & Collections Inventory Technician is responsible for maintaining the flow, accuracy, and integrity of property throughout the warehouse and collection processes. This includes tagging, recording, photographing, condition checking, and moving items safely, while supporting internal teams and ensuring full compliance with inventory, security, and confidentiality standards.

How You’ll Make an Impact Inventory Intake & Control
  • Support the Incoming Goods and Collections Technicians in communications and scheduling of onsite activity.
  • Assist in managing the movement of property, ensuring all items are tagged, condition‑checked, and accurately recorded in Christie’s Inventory Management systems.
  • Report all damages, losses, or inventory discrepancies immediately to the line manager.
  • Maintain 100% item location accuracy across all storage areas in collaboration with Inventory Management and Specialist Departments.
  • Perform monthly stock checks on all live inventory, including auction and private‑sale items.
  • Ensure stock is processed in line with inventory management guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Management and Warehouse teams to relocate aged inventory to third‑party (3P) warehouses and/or consolidate aged inventory onsite.
Logistics & Property Movement
  • Move property safely and securely between departments, photography studios, and other operational areas.
  • Provide logistical support for specialists during cataloguing and pre‑sale lotting.
  • Liaise with saleroom operations to ensure sales are ready to transfer by the agreed dates.
  • Support the scheduling and facilitation of customer collections as required.
Photography, Cataloguing & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Liaise with key stakeholders—including photographers, specialist departments, third‑party suppliers, and restorers—to ensure items are photographed, catalogued, and prepared for viewing.
  • Capture and maintain all required information within Christie's systems and offline tools, reporting key findings to stakeholders.
Compliance, Reporting & Process Improvement
  • Report process adherence issues and provide insights and recommendations on root causes.
  • Ensure full compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and internal security policies.
  • Undertake all required training to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Meet assigned targets and KPIs through effective task planning and prioritisation.
  • Complete additional tasks assigned by the Manager.

  • Competent with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; familiarity with Oracle‑based systems preferred.

  • Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional weekends.
