Overview

Job Title: Strategy Executive

Location: London

Department: Lifestyle, EMEA

Reports to: Executive Vice President

The Strategy Executive is a foundational thinking role within PURPLE’s Lifestyle division. This role exists to strengthen the quality, clarity and consistency of strategic thinking across client work, new business, and internal initiatives. It is not a pure research role, nor a purely academic strategy position. Instead, it sits at the intersection of insight, structure, and execution - turning communications ideas into compelling narratives, frameworks and plans that teams can actually use.

You will work closely with senior leadership to support client strategy, new business pitches, and the development of internal initiatives (e.g. improving the agency’s measurement/evaluation process). Over time, this role should evolve into a recognised strategic voice within the agency. This is an ideal role for someone early in their career who is intellectually ambitious, culturally fluent, and hungry to learn how high-level thinking is applied in a commercial agency environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Strategy Support
    • Support the development of communications strategies for key Lifestyle clients across travel, hospitality, property, culture, F&B, and design
    • Conduct high-quality research and analysis - media, cultural, competitor, consumer - and translate it into clear strategic implications
    • Help shape positioning, messaging houses, campaign narratives, and strategic rationales.
    • Support client teams with improving measurement and evaluation of work.
  • New Business and Pitch Strategy
    • Play a central role in new business responses, supporting with:
      • Strategic framing and narrative
      • Reserach and insight development
      • Deck structuring and story flow
    • Help codify “how PURPLE thinks”, ensuring pitch work is shap, differentiated, and commercially credible.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of PURPLE’s sectors and priority prospects.
  • IP and Internal Initiatives
    • Support the development of PURPLE IP - toolkits, playbooks, and internal frameworks and processes.
    • Work across Lifestyle sub-teams, bringing strategic consistency while respecting specialist expertise.
    • Act as a strategic “sparring partner” for account teams.
    • Support the development of better processes and systems for strategy, planning and measurement.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise What Success Looks Like
  • Client teams actively seek your input early - not just at deck-polish stage.
  • Senior leaders trust your thinking and use your work as the foundation for decisions.
  • Pitch work feels clearer, sharper, and more differentiated because of your involvement.
  • Strategy outputs are structured, insightful, creative, and commercially grounded - not academic.
Skills & Experience
  • Essential
  • 1–3 years’ experience in strategy, consulting, PR, comms, media, advertising, or a related field.
  • Exceptional written English — able to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong analytical ability with the confidence to form a point of view.
  • High level of cultural literacy across lifestyle, media, design, travel, hospitality, and luxury.
  • Comfort working on presentations and structured documents (Google Slides / PowerPoint).
  • Desirable
    • Experience supporting pitches or strategic projects.
    • Familiarity with media, PR, or brand-building environments.
    • Evidence of independent thinking (writing, research projects, side interests).
Cultural Fit

This role requires someone who embodies the Lifestyle’s teams values in practice, not theory:

  • Wants to win - ambitious, driven, and outcome-focused.
  • Obsessed with their craft - genuinely passionate about strategy and ideas.
  • Curious beyond their job - plugged into culture, media, and the wider world.
  • Cares about the work - high standards, detail-driven, and proud of what they produce.
  • Great to be around - thoughtful, socially intelligent, and collaborative.
  • Glass half full - solutions-led, constructive, and energising.
  • Relationship-rich - building trust quickly and contributing positively to the culture.
