Position: Professional and Continuing Education Director (3-year contract), OCHCMC

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Market Development:
    • Develop and implement strategic market development plans to grow our PCE business in Vietnam, B2B custom programmes while providing support to various B2C PCE initiatives.
    • Travel within Vietnam is expected.
    • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitor landscape to identify new PCE opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the Centre Director to align with market engagement strategies.
    • Develop and manage long-term customer relationships at senior levels within organizations including senior L&D managers and C-level leaders to understand the organisational challenges and developmental requirements and where we can add value.
  • Coordination and Reporting:
    • Provide general assistance regarding local laws, market, industry, and business practices.
    • Assist with in-country market reporting, and channelling key information.
    • Assist with managing information on potential client opportunities and connecting them with the Head of Commercial in Singapore and other SMU business units.
    • Facilitate general business enquiries as they relate to PCE.
    • Develop and manage a database of contacts and a pipeline of PCE opportunities.
    • Support marketing and thought leadership events in Vietnam.
  • Effective Team Member:
    • Collaborate with PCE peers to share and impart knowledge.
    • Leverage resources to address customer needs and initiatives in a consultative manner.
    • Foster and maintain positive and supportive working relationships with colleagues.
    • Act all times in an ethical manner, with high personal integrity.
    • Work in collaboration with the Vietnam team.
    • Maintain respectful, harmonious, and supportive relationships with colleagues.
    • Be a positive brand ambassador of SMU in Vietnam.
    • Maintain confidential PCE information and information on all client programs and client relationships.
    • Be punctual for the working day and for all meetings (internal and external).
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, Education, or related disciplines, preferred.
  • Native speaker fluency in Vietnamese is mandatory. Proficiency in English is essential for communications with regional and global counterparts.
  • An established network of relationships in target Vietnamese organizations is preferred.
  • Leadership experience with proven capability in business development and implementing successful Go-To-Market strategies.
  • Track record of building capability within a high performing business development team particularly in fostering an insight-based and consulting-led approach to developing opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success in senior stakeholder relationship management and in strategic account development.
  • An understanding of the PCE market in Vietnam is preferred.
  • Business development and relationship management skills with proven ability to build impactful and mutually beneficial long-term partnerships.
  • Proven results in a B2B environment.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and business development skills.
  • Ability to engage at senior levels in organizations from Learning and Development leaders through to C-suite.
  • Effective reporting with a focus on continuous improvement in data access, quality, and relevance.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to assume an organization-wide view.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good understanding of the cultural sensitivities between Vietnam and Singapore.
  • Previous knowledge of working in Singapore or with Singaporean companies is preferred.

The position holder will be paid in VND. The job posting salary range was indicated in SGD due to the platform's currency constraints.

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
