You’ll join Argos’ Services & Propositions team, shaping how customers experience delivery and value‑added services across the Argos proposition. Working at the heart of a fast‑moving, customer‑focused ecommerce business, the team blends commercial performance with strategic development to evolve existing propositions and launch new ones. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across Trading, Tech & Product, Digital, Supply Chain & Fulfilment, Finance and Marketing, influencing senior stakeholders and helping set the direction for ‘More Argos, More Often’.

As a Proposition Development Manager, you will scope and define the propositional roadmap for key customer‑facing changes, balancing commercial outcomes with customer experience. You’ll develop and socialise a strategic point of view on areas such as delivery pricing and proposition, value‑added services (for example Trade‑In and Installation) and strategic priorities such as loyalty, ensuring priorities are understood and adopted across the business.
Day to day, you’ll use market, competitor, customer, financial and operational data to identify opportunities, build structured analysis and (where relevant) business cases, and present recommendations to senior leaders. You’ll represent the Commercial voice in end‑to‑end proposition thinking, manage risks, issues and dependencies, and establish ways of working that enable delivery team also owns the propositional evolution and ongoing success of large and small item delivery and value‑added service contracts, including performance tracking, optimisation and partner management to agreed service levels.

You bring strong commercial and proposition thinking, and you’re comfortable translating ambiguous questions into clear, hypothesis‑led problem solving. You can collate and analyse data to generate insight, create simple strategic frameworks, and communicate recommendations clearly to a range of audiences including senior stakeholders.
You will be able to unite cross‑functional teams around shared outcomes, track progress with robust processes and regular governance, and manage interdependencies across a complex organisation. You’ll work collaboratively, seek and provide feedback, and keep the customer at the centre of decision‑making while delivering change at pace.
- Demonstrated experience producing structured commercial analysis that informs recommendations (e.g., options appraisal and/or business case outputs)
- Ability to use and interpret market, customer, financial and operational datasets to identify opportunities and track performance using clear metrics
- Experience leading cross‑functional delivery through defined governance (e.g., setting objectives, milestones, risks/issues and dependencies) to achieve agreed outcomes
