Sony Pictures Entertainment's Corporate Development Group seeks a Director based in London to leverage financial and strategic expertise in the entertainment industry. The Director will support business leaders of Sony Pictures International Distribution and International Production, and collaborate with the global Corporate Development team in Los Angeles.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Director will lead and execute business and corporate development initiatives across EMEA, identifying growth opportunities and managing transactions from strategic and financial perspectives.
- Proactively identify opportunities for growth and recommend investments aligned with business priorities.
- Lead detailed financial, valuation, and investment committee analyses for new business launches, acquisitions, or divestitures.
- Evaluate growth initiatives across television and digital media, including Pay TV, Free TV, and digital platforms.
- Partner with local management teams on strategy development, execution, and capital allocation decisions.
- Prepare business plans, strategic analyses, and executive-level presentations with clear financial and strategic recommendations.
- Lead financial and commercial due diligence for potential acquisition targets.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to structure and execute transactions.
- Support negotiation of transaction documentation and key commercial terms.
- Lead cross‑functional deal teams and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative culture.
- Travel less than 20%.
- 7+ years business experience in investment banking, consulting or corporate/business development.
- Relevant experience in media and entertainment (preferred television and/or digital media).
- Knowledge and relationships within EMEA markets.
- MBA preferred (B.A./B.S. required).
- Strong financial analysis and valuation skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of business operations and financial reporting.
- Proven self‑starter with problem‑solving ability and initiative.
- Track record of managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
