Product Owner – Fund Accounting and Administration, Assistant Vice President

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our Investment Services Product organization within the Fund Accounting and Administration (FAA) product organization. Reporting to the Vice President of FAA, you will partner closely with FAA Product Leads, Operations, and Technology teams to translate business priorities into defined product requirements, manage backlog priorities, and support the delivery of measurable outcomes aligned to the FAA roadmap.

Function

The role is responsible for owning and refining product requirements, backlog items, and delivery priorities across defined FAA initiatives and capability enhancements. In close partnership with business, operations, and technology stakeholders, you will ensure that user needs are clearly articulated, acceptance criteria are practical, and delivered outcomes meet client, operational, and regulatory expectations. The position also serves as a Product Owner, managing the product backlog for specific initiatives or components of larger programs under the direction of senior product leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the product backlog for assigned FAA initiatives or work streams, ensuring priorities are clearly defined and sequenced.
  • Partner with Product, Operations, and Technology teams to define user stories, business requirements, acceptance criteria, and release priorities.
  • Drive day‑to‑day backlog execution, ensuring work items progress on time, within scope, and with appropriate risk management.
  • Analyze product change impacts, including client impact, operational implications, process dependencies, and commercial considerations.
  • Support development and maintenance of product roadmaps, epics, user stories, and backlogs aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Apply professional judgment to identify dependencies, trade‑offs, delivery risks, and sequencing decisions, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Contribute to discussions on FAA operating models and supporting technology capabilities, focusing on simplification, standardization, and scalability.
  • Support evaluation of solution options and platform enhancements to improve product capabilities and delivery efficiency.
  • Partner with stakeholders across service disciplines to ensure product requirements are understood and capabilities are integrated consistently.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to clarify requirements, review progress, and support successful sprint and release outcomes.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements and local market considerations impacting assigned product features and initiatives.
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting, including accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP), NAV construction, general ledger processing, and complex asset classes.
  • Working knowledge of fund administration functions downstream from accounting records, including financial and regulatory reporting, tax administration, and investment compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities across a defined product backlog and support delivery across concurrent initiatives.
  • Ability to apply business, operational, and system knowledge to inform requirements, prioritization, and product decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate recommendations and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Experience in creating high‑quality requirements, user stories, process flows, and solution documentation.
  • Solid understanding of Agile delivery practices, including Product Owner responsibilities, story definition, backlog grooming, and sprint collaboration.
  • Ability to operate effectively in global, matrixed environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound professional judgment.
  • Exposure to the adoption of AI within the Product Development Lifecycle is preferred.
Experience
  • 7–12 years’ experience in Securities Services or related financial services businesses.
