Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead Haleon’s Advisory Services category as a Senior Category Manager. The role reports to the Director, Corporate Services and is responsible for category management and sourcing activities for Advisory Services globally, managing an annual spend of approximately £70m.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute global category strategies to deliver scalable, commercially sound solutions that balance global consistency with local needs.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand demand, shape requirements, and translate business needs into clear sourcing strategies and outcomes‑based engagement models.
  • Conduct market and industry analysis using data, benchmarking, and insights to identify trends, improvement opportunities, and provide evidence‑based recommendations.
  • Optimize procurement processes to improve efficiency, governance, and cost‑effectiveness across regions.
  • Deliver benefits identified in strategies through effective strategy execution, aligning assurance of supply, quality, service, cost, and innovation.
  • Manage financial benefits in accordance with the category strategy and savings methodology, ensuring agreement with Business and Finance on value delivered and transparency in budgeting.
  • Lead business partnering and stakeholder management, influencing cross‑functional stakeholders and senior leadership in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
  • Build strategic relationships with key suppliers, lead contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance with global suppliers.
  • Drive Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to manage supplier performance, establish KPIs and drive competition, quality, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Ensure suppliers are managed against third‑party risks, and develop and implement operational excellence strategies for key global suppliers.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience leading procurement/category management for Advisory/Consulting spend.
  • Strong sourcing, negotiation, and contracting experience (RFPs, rate cards, MSAs/SOWs, supplier selection).
  • Project management experience in cross‑functional environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate insights from data (spend analytics, benchmarking, supplier performance metrics).
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of operational procurement experience across multiple categories.
  • Excellent knowledge of procurement tools such as sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review, and supplier development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in category strategy development and implementation, stakeholder management, and supplier relationship management.
  • In‑depth understanding of the external environment and supplier relationship models.
  • Strong knowledge of finance (cost benchmark, financial audit with key suppliers) and legal matters (contracting).
  • Clear understanding of business value, business priorities, and potential implementation risks.
  • Significant experience working in a matrix (global/regional) business environment.
  • Strong networking skills and proven ability to build collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders and business partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to drive, implement and support change.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks across projects using project management skills.
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work in high‑pressure environment, often under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with risk management and motivation for professional development.
  • Willingness to coach, mentor and train others.
