The Science Museum Group (SMG) is seeking an Interactive Galleries Coordinator for an 18‑month fixed‑term, full‑time position (36 hours per week) based onsite at the Science Museum. The role requires occasional out‑of‑hours work for installations, events and contractor activities, with some support at other SMG sites.
Aboutthe role
The Interactive Galleries Coordinator will manage updates and maintenance within the Technicians Gallery and other interactive spaces, work closely with technicians, operational teams and external contractors to resolve issues efficiently, and lead small‑scale projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring safe, on‑time and budget‑conscious outcomes.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and supervise updates and maintenance of interactive displays and exhibitions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Plan and execute small‑scale projects, managing timelines, budgets and safety requirements.
- Support out‑of‑hours onsite work for installations, events and contractor tasks.
- Experience coordinating technical or operational projects from concept to delivery.
- Capacity to manage budgets and delivery schedules effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple demands.
- Strong communication skills, able to interact with technical and non‑technical teams and customers.
- Comfortable working with technology and technical teams; advanced technical knowledge is not required.
