Role Overview
This is a key role to support the Business Development team providing office management and executive support to the work of Business Development at QMUL.
Responsibilities- Work with external partners and internal stakeholders: diary management, meeting organisation and hosting, coordinate attendance to external events, communication coordination, assist in compiling reports for university leadership.
- Leadership work and team communication: organise senior leadership, team and one‑to‑one meetings, coordinate agenda planning, manage team communication and work channels.
- Recruitment, local HR management, and team connectedness: assist with recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, leave management and HR processes, and fostering team connections.
- Operational support to team activity: manage the team's SharePoint site, internal webpages and source content for external communications, monitor team spend for travel, expenses, equipment, events, manage supplier setup and invoicing.
The successful candidate will be proactive, well‑organised and committed with strong administrative and coordination skills to support a busy, dynamic team and manage a varied workload. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with a range of stakeholders with the team, senior leadership, and external clients and stakeholders. You will need to be able to work independently, be proactive and flexible to seek ways to resolve issues and navigate systems and processes to progress work.
TeamThe role is based in the Business Development team and is part of QMUL's Research & Innovation Services Directorate. The Business Development team comprises around 17 staff supporting research and knowledge partnerships with business and industry, business‑led collaborations, consultancy and contracts with public sector organisations.
