Help shape the future of sustainable supply chains in Africa

Farm Africa is looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Sustainable Supply Manager to help grow our sustainable supply chain and advisory work.

The location of this role is entirely flexible - it can be based in any one of our operational Countries in Eastern Africa, or in the UK.

This is a unique opportunity to combine business growth with social and environmental impact. Working with global buyers, traders, retailers, agribusinesses and impact investors, you will develop and deliver solutions that strengthen agricultural supply chains while improving opportunities for smallholder farmers across eastern Africa.

Why this role?

Businesses today face growing expectations around sustainable sourcing, traceability, climate resilience and ESG performance. At the same time, resilient smallholder farming systems are increasingly recognised as critical to the long‑term success of agricultural supply chains.

For almost 40 years, Farm Africa has partnered with farmers, businesses and market actors across eastern Africa to develop practical solutions that deliver commercial, social and environmental value. We are now investing in the growth of our commercial advisory and sustainable supply chain work, creating an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to build relationships, win business and help shape a growing area of our organisation.

What

you’ll do

You will lead the development and delivery of a portfolio of commercial advisory work focused on:

  • Sustainable coffee supply chains
  • Sustainable horticulture supply chains
  • Technical assistance services for impact investors and blended finance funds
  • ESG, traceability and responsible sourcing solutions
  • Building long‑term commercial partnerships with corporates, traders, retailers and investors

You’ll identify opportunities, develop propositions, win contracts and manage delivery, helping businesses build more resilient and sustainable supply chains while generating income that supports Farm Africa's mission.

About you

We’re looking for someone with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for sustainable agriculture.

You will bring:

  • A proven track record of winning business, generating revenue and building strategic partnerships.
  • Experience in agricultural, food, commodity or related supply chains.
  • Knowledge of ESG, sustainability, traceability, certification or responsible sourcing.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience engaging with senior decision‑makers in corporate, investor or development finance environments.
  • Knowledge of East African agricultural markets.
  • An entrepreneurial approach and the ability to turn opportunities into results.

You’ll join an organisation with deep technical expertise, a strong reputation across eastern Africa and a growing ambition to influence how agricultural markets work for both businesses and farmers. With teams based across Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and the UK, Farm Africa combines local insight with practical solutions that deliver measurable impact.

This is an opportunity to build something new, work with influential partners and play a key role in the next phase of Farm Africa's sustainable supply chain work.
