Job DescriptionAECOM seeks a Technical Specialist within the Transportation team to lead the technical delivery of Evaluation and Benefits Management projects. The role focuses on client engagement, project execution, business development, and team growth.
Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership
:
Lead the development and execution of initiatives to grow the evaluation and benefits management work area. - Client and Stakeholder Engagement
:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, providing strategic advice and representing AECOM at meetings, events and conferences. - Technical Excellence
:
Oversee delivery of complex evaluation and benefits management projects, ensuring high‑quality deliverables based on best practice, including the Magenta Book and innovative methodologies. - Business Development
:
Identify and pursue new opportunities, prepare bids and proposals, and collaborate across business lines on multidisciplinary projects. - Team Development
:
Support recruitment, mentoring and development of the evaluation and benefits management team, fostering collaboration, innovation and inclusion.
- Extensive experience in the evaluation field.
- Higher degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning or related discipline.
- Chartered Status or membership in CIHT, TPS or UK Evaluation Society.
- Practical experience applying mixed methods in evaluation.
- Expertise in theory‑based and experimental/quasi‑experimental evaluation design for transport projects and programmes.
- Proven track record in design and implementation of Benefits Management.
- Strong analytical skills for consulting, including handling complex datasets, statistical analysis, economics and social value.
- Critical thinker with problem‑solving mindset, comfortable navigating imperfect data environments.
- Leadership, team management and mentoring capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and deliver results.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK & India transport planning principles, policies and regulations.
- Understanding of AI platforms that aid evaluation and benefits management projects.
