The Student Communities Coordinator plays a key role in building vibrant and inclusive student communities across the Tooting campus. The postholder supports societies, student media and fundraising groups, provides guidance on events, budgets, governance and leadership development, coordinates engaging activities and major campus events, ensures compliance with health and safety requirements, manages administrative processes, and helps create opportunities that foster belonging, participation and student success while strengthening relationships across the Students’ Union and University.
Responsibilities- Coordinate engaging activities and major campus events.
- Provide guidance on budgets, governance and leadership development for student societies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements for all events.
- Manage all administrative processes related to student community activities.
- Create opportunities that foster belonging and participation among diverse student communities.
- Strengthen relationships across the Students’ Union and the University.
- Experience supporting volunteers and coordinating events.
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Knowledge of event‑related health and safety requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online systems.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and ability to engage diverse student communities.
- Work on site 4+ days a week during term time, primarily in Tooting with one day a week at the Clerkenwell site.
- Greater flexibility outside of term time.
- Flexible hours between 9 am and 6 pm during term time.
- Availability for some evening and weekend shifts as needed.
