Position: Company Secretarial Assistant

At Metro Bank, we believe the best banking experience starts with people who genuinely care. We’re not just delivering banking services - we’re building trust through authentic connections. Here, our people come first; our colleagues are part of a team that values individuality, collaboration, and long-standing relationships. We are also all about balance so most of our jobs offer the opportunity for hybrid working built around your role and home life, wherever possible.

What you will do:
  • Support the delivery of key Company Secretarial tasks, contributing to effective governance, legal and regulatory compliance across the Group
  • Maintain statutory records, registers and share capital administration for Group companies
  • Manage Companies House and National Storage Mechanism filings
  • Draft and release routine London Stock Exchange announcements
  • Assist with the coordination of board and committee meetings, including agendas and meeting administration
  • Prepare and maintain authorised signatory lists, power of attorney documents and support insider dealing compliance processes
  • Manage governance registers, including Gifts and Hospitality, and contribute to annual reporting requirements
  • Monitor regulatory developments, manage statutory filing deadlines and work autonomously to deliver corporate calendar obligations and priorities within the Company Secretarial Team

And… we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the ability to call out any concerns.

What you will need:
  • Strong interest in corporate governance and commitment to developing a career in company secretariat
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and strong written communication skills
  • Experience supporting boards and governance activities, with knowledge of the Companies Act 2006 and UK Corporate Governance Code desirable
Our promise to you
  • We will make sure that you are well-rewarded by providing you with a competitive salary, discretionary annual bonus, and a wide range of benefits, including generous holiday allowance, attractive pension scheme, healthcare, life assurance, and a number of colleague discounts!
  • We will give you the training to ensure you succeed in your role and plenty of internal opportunities to progress your career (around 40% of our recruitment comes from internal promotions!)
