At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer. We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated Administrator to join our Commercial Partnerships Business Operations team. You’ll work closely with specialists in Finance, Business Intelligence and Data Management giving you the opportunity to develop skills across Business Operations and reporting.

What will you be doing?
  • Provide administration support for the Business Operations team, including:
    Supporting finance processes creating receivables, purchase orders, patent fees, new supplier set up, invoice generation and tracking.
  • Support data management activities including data entry, validation, cleansing and ongoing maintenance of key datasets to ensure high levels of data integrity.
  • Assist with the production and distribution of regular reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for stakeholders across the organisations.
  • Assist with the preparation of analyses, presentations and insight reports that support strategic projects and higher-level decision-making.
  • Assist with documentation of reporting processes, data definitions and general standard operating procedures to improve consistency and efficiency across the Commercial Partnerships team.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of reporting tools, data systems and business intelligence processes.
  • Assist with ad hoc analytical data-driven projects, including, data collection, preparation and basic analysis.
  • Maintaining data integrity and updating fields on our record management system (Minuet).
  • Managing the group inbox and internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Designing, drafting and maintaining processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Proven ability to work to a high standard with an eye for detail, working under own initiative and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience of working within an administrative capacity for a team.
  • Experience of managing multiple responsibilities and tasks.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Willingness to support colleagues in a range of work.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviours:
  • General understanding of scientific research and innovation environment including the pharmaceutical drug development process.
  • Experience with reporting tools, business intelligence platforms or data visualisation software (e.g. Power BI) would be advantageous but not essential.
