Location:
Alton Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 FTE (Pro Rata) Part-Time | 1-2 Days Per Week | Flexible Working An established manufacturing and engineering business in Hampshire is seeking an experienced Part-Time Health & Safety Coordinator to support the ongoing development and maintenance of its health and safety management systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive health and safety professional looking for flexible working arrangements while remaining actively involved in workplace compliance, employee wellbeing and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Role Working closely with management and employees across the business, you will be responsible for supporting and promoting a positive health and safety culture while ensuring compliance with current legislation and company procedures. Key responsibilities will include:
Monitoring compliance with health and safety legislation and internal policies. Conducting workplace inspections and audits, identifying hazards and recommending improvements. Assisting with risk assessments, safe systems of work and method statements. Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, supporting corrective actions where required. Maintaining health and safety documentation, records and training matrices. Supporting inductions, toolbox talks and employee awareness initiatives. Advising managers and employees on health and safety best practice.
Assisting with emergency preparedness, fire safety and first aid arrangements. Supporting external audits and inspections. Contributing to the continuous improvement of health and safety processes and systems. About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience within a Health & Safety position. A good understanding of UK health and safety legislation. Strong communication and organisational skills. The ability to work independently and manage your own workload. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Experience within manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments. Experience working with ISO 45001 management systems. Experience delivering health and safety training or toolbox talks. Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH). What's on Offer? Flexible part-time working (1-2 days per week).
