Contract:

initial 2 year fixed term, with possibility of extension depending on funding availability. Level: The budgeted salary range for this grant-funded role is £42,000–£49,000. We anticipate that new joiners will normally start towards the lower end of the range, depending on experience.

Working hours:

This is a full-time position with most work falling between 9 to 5 BST. PURPOSE

A role at the juncture of technical and policy development, supporting IAPB’s collaboration with countries towards the development and operationalisation of their nature credit markets, supporting and promoting IAPB outputs and their application at country level, leveraging on collaboration with institutional contacts, knowledge partners, and market organisations.

• Responsibility:
  
  Manage and deliver country engagement activities with institutional contacts in selected countries as per IAPB’s government engagement strategy
• Supporting task:
  
  Develop and maintain relationships with institutional contacts; prepare briefings and engagement materials; support policy development, applying IAPB methodologies and guidance as relevant. Identification of opportunities and challenges for nature credit market development within a given policy context, acting as knowledge partner to address them in collaboration with institutional contacts
• Key outcomes expected: IAPB establishes and maintains constructive collaborative relationships with the countries it has selected as priority as part of its strategy and is perceived internationally as a “go to” policy support initiative for nature markets

• Responsibility:
  Contribute to the technical development, drafting, testing and practical application of IAPB’s nature credit standards and methodologies and support their integration into country-level policy, and market infrastructure design as part of the nature credit market development process. Develop technical analysis and guidance for countries on how to technically integrate nature credit markets with other nature markets such as carbon and bioeconomy markets, country engagement and relationship building, and in support of nature markets development.
• Supporting tasks:
  Contribute to development of IAPB’s approach to policy development via technical assessment of nature credit pilots by application of the IAPB nature credit standards. Support the policy dialogue with key insights from such pilot technical assessment processes. Support the development of key technical nature market related technical outputs papers, notes and reports on key topics such as de-risking, dynamic baselines and more.
  
  These outputs, analysis and methodologies, will be developed in collaboration with the rest of the IAPB team.
• Key outcomes expected: IAPB’s nature credit standards and methodologies, covering a range of technical nature credit market design elements, are recognised as leading “standard” international guidance and enablers for high integrity nature market development and operationalisation; they are being used and applied by partner countries as part of their policy advancement and market development and they are applied by market participants.

• Responsibility:
  Further develop and maintain relationships with UK Government departments, agencies, NGOs, think tanks, businesses and academic institutions to support the adoption and international reach of IAPB outputs and activities.
• Supporting tasks: UK-focussed relationship development and management
• Key outcomes expected:
  Continuation and further development of strong, collaborative relationship with UK public institutions and other stakeholders, formal (regular) and informal (ad hoc) reporting to UK Grantor authorities.
