JOB

PURPOSE

We are hiring a Fabric Development Assistant to join Burberry's Fabric Development team and support the delivery of innovative fabrics across our collections. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development process from concept through to collection readiness, ensuring information, samples and supplier activity are managed with accuracy and care. Working closely with Fabric Developers, suppliers and cross-functional teams, you will play an important role in supporting the craftsmanship, quality and creativity that define Burberry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the end-to-end fabric development process across seasonal collections, ensuring key milestones are met.
  • Maintain and update PLM systems with accurate fabric information throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with Fabric Developers to coordinate supplier communications and help ensure sample deliveries arrive on time and within budget.
  • Prepare and maintain fabric pages, collection boards and fabric bibles to support product development activities.
  • Manage fabric libraries and provide accurate fabric information to development and design teams.
  • Raise purchase orders for fabric samples and provide administrative support to facilitate efficient team operations.
PERSONAL PROFILE
  • Previous experience within Fabric Development or a related product development environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy across large volumes of information.
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of costs, budgets and product development processes.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and external partners.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in PLM systems, Excel and Adobe InDesign, alongside a genuine interest in luxury fashion, textiles and craftsmanship.
