The Role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and commercially experienced Senior Consultant to join the Enterprise Insights and Investment team.

This may include business model development, growth strategy, customer and market validation, go-to-market planning, organisational scaling, partnership development and investment readiness.

As the team's offer develops, they may also be opportunities to contribute to new propositions such as venture-building activity.

Key Activities

  • Diagnose the commercial, strategic and operational challenges facing SMEs, building trusted relationships with founders and leadership teams to understand business needs, identify barriers to growth and scaling and shape appropriate support approaches.
  • Facilitate constructive discussions with founders and leadership teams, helping them evaluate opportunities, challenge assumptions and make informed commercial decisions.
  • Deliver targeted, practical commercial support to SMEs through structured analysis, workshops and one-to-one engagement, helping founders and leadership teams address barrier to growth and scaling.
  • Support SMEs to validate and refine their value proposition, business models, customer propositions and go-to-market strategies.
  • Help growth-stage businesses develop practical plans for scaling.
  • Work with earlier-stage businesses, where appropriate to strengthen their commercial foundations and prepare them for future growth.
  • Translate evidence and insight into clear, actionable recommendations, supporting businesses to prioritise decisions and implement next steps.
Investment Readiness, Market Insight and Growth Planning
  • Assess SME investment readiness and provide practical coaching to help founders and leadership teams address gaps.
  • Conduct market and industry analysis, including market sizing, customer and competitor assessment, and strategic insight, to inform SME growth plans, commercial decisions and investment propositions.
  • Support SMEs to strengthen the commercial narrative, evidence and materials underpinning their growth and potential fundraising plans.
  • Work collaboratively with CPCs fund and investment expertise to ensure SMEs receive appropriate aligned specialist support, and where relevant, access to suitable investors or funding partners.
