About the Role About East End Homes We are a community-focused provider dedicated to listening to our residents and delivering services that truly meet their needs. Our culture is built on being caring, trusted, and always looking for ways to improve, ensuring we provide a supportive environment for both our staff and the people we serve. We believe in working locally and collaboratively, making a real difference in the neighbourhoods where we work.

The Role We are looking for a Building Safety Officer to join us in keeping our high-rise and higher-risk buildings safe and compliant. You will work closely with our Compliance & Building Safety Manager to make sure we are meeting all our legal obligations, especially regarding the Building Safety Act.

A big part of your day will involve managing the 'golden thread' of information—this means keeping accurate, digital records for our buildings and ensuring all safety checks are up to date. You will also be the friendly, go-to person for our residents, leading on consultations and making sure their voices are heard when it comes to the safety of their homes.

From monitoring contractors to helping develop safety cases, you’ll play a vital part in making sure our buildings are managed responsibly and our residents feel secure.

The Person We are looking for someone who is organised, communicative, and genuinely cares about safety. You should have:

A good understanding of the Building Safety Act and current health and safety legislation.

Experience in managing digital records and a keen eye for detail when it comes to compliance documentation.

The ability to build great relationships with residents, listening to their concerns and explaining safety matters clearly.

A collaborative spirit, comfortable working alongside repairs, estates, and technical teams to get things done.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to spot potential risks and ensure they are dealt with quickly.

A flexible approach to work, as building safety regulations and resident needs are always evolving.

The Benefits Compensation & Benefits:
We offer a competitive SO2 grade salary package along with a generous benefits scheme that looks after your financial well-being.

Professional & Personal Development:
We want you to grow with us, so we provide a wide range of learning and development opportunities to help you progress in your career.

Working Culture & Environment:
You’ll join a supportive and dedicated team where kindness and respect are part of the daily routine. We promote a healthy work-life balance and provide a friendly local working environment.

Reputation & Brand:
We are proud of our reputation as a community-based organisation that values accountability and high standards of service.

Job Content & Autonomy:
You will have the opportunity to take the lead on specific buildings, giving you the autonomy to manage records and resident engagement while making a tangible impact on local safety.
