We are looking for an experienced and strategic    Product Owner    to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex digital services. In this role, you will own the product vision, roadmap, lifecycle, and backlogguiding products through Discovery, Alpha, Beta, and Live phases while ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and Service Standard / GDS assessments.
You will act as the champion for our users, driving continuous improvement through data and user research while balancing stakeholder priorities across multi-faceted delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities       Product Vision and

Roadmap:

Define, communicate, and execute a clear product strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Lifecycle Management:
Lead products through all delivery phases (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live), successfully navigating formal GDS/Service Standard assessments and governance gates.
Backlog Ownership:
Own, prioritize, and refine the product backlog, translating user needs and business requirements into actionable epics and user stories.
Agile Leadership:
Partner with multidisciplinary delivery teams (engineers, designers, researchers) to maintain momentum, remove blockers, and deliver value iteratively.
Stakeholder Management:
Build strong relationships across internal teams, senior leaders, and external partners to negotiate priorities and influence outcomes.
User-Centric and Data-Driven Decision Making:
Combine user feedback, analytics, and performance data to inform product iterations and drive continuous improvement.
Essential Skills and Experience       Strategic Product Ownership:
Proven track record of defining product strategy, managing roadmaps, and delivering value through the full product lifecycle.
GDS and Public Sector

Experience:

Hands-on experience delivering complex government products and successfully passing GDS / Service Standard assessments.
Agile Leadership:
Strong expertise in Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and leading cross-functional delivery teams.
Stakeholder Influence:
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities from diverse stakeholders.
User Focus:
Passionate about putting user needs at the heart of service design.
Data-Led Continuous Improvement:
Ability to leverage qualitative research, metrics, and data to optimize product performance post-launch.

Desirable Experience      Managing products within    complex transformational programmes   .
Navigating    regulatory environments    and policy-heavy domains.
Familiarity with    Cabinet Office spending controls    and governance processes.
£500.00 - £505.00 / day
