Senior Consultant – Investor and Sustainability Communications

Overview

The Black Sun Global Advisory team is looking for candidates with strong financial and corporate communications skills, combined with sustainability advisory experience, to join us in advising our exceptionally strong client base of FTSE 100 and 250 companies on their corporate and sustainability reporting requirements.

The Black Sun Advisory team works closely with regulators, industry bodies and our clients to ensure we are able to provide the highest standards of advice and support on all aspects of corporate and sustainability reporting. Primarily focusing upon Annual Reports, we help companies navigate the regulatory landscape from ISSB, CSRD and Net Zero Transition Plans to preparing for the UK SRS, aligning to the UK Corporate Governance Code and applying both established emerging best practice reporting.

The successful candidate will be a key member of our Advisory team and will work closely with all parts of the Black Sun Global business as well as colleagues across the Positive Change Group collection of stakeholder engagement businesses. They will help to win new business, developing strategic roadmaps for clients, delivering projects on-time and to a high quality and contributing to Black Sun Global’s award-winning thought leadership and best practice consultancy services.

• Working with our clients to shape their corporate reporting suite in line with current and forthcoming disclosure requirements demonstrating an excellent understanding of the regulatory reporting landscape.
• Providing best practice strategic advice on corporate reporting, sustinability and wider communication to clients and new business prospects, using your expertise and knowledge to help shape clients’ communications strategies.
• Developing strategic communications presentations and interim assessments of Annual Reports and Sustainability Reports supported by peer analysis; benchmarking; content audits and guidelines; and ad hoc consultancy work, including taking an active role in presentations to senior stakeholders at our clients.
• Conducting deep dive research into the corporate communications of Black Sun Global clients to assess their current communications approach, content and overall effectiveness.
• Leading client workshops, presentations and external events on best practice communication with a particular focus on topics such as strategy, ESG, climate, corporate governance and relevant regulation.
• Helping devise and promote Black Sun’s wider communications offer to existing Black Sun clients as well as new business prospects and demonstrate the value of developing an impactful communications framework and plan, beyond simply disclosing or reporting data and information.

• Working closely with other members of the team to develop key processes, methodologies and best practice approaches.
• Providing guidance, education, support and expertise to junior members of the Advisory team as well as other internal teams as required, ensuring the account teams are well equipped to drive discussions with clients.

• Helping pitch for and win new business, with existing and new prospects as relevant.

• Helping develop and deliver Black Sun Global’s own research and benchmarking.
• Contributing to the development of Black Sun Global’s impressive thought leadership and editorial productions.

• Experience in communication roles, preferably in corporate reporting, financial PR or investor relations.
• Ideally, experience of working with listed companies, presenting and providing advice on best practice corporate reporting and communication.
