Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) systems, compliance, and performance across the business.
To serve as the Company's lead competent person for Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality matters. This role ensures full legal compliance, effective risk management, and fosters a strong culture of safe and responsible working.

General hours of work are 45 hours per week, between 8am and 5pm.
ResponsibilitiesPolicy, Compliance & Governance
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSEQ systems aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, including CDM 2015, fire safety, and asbestos regulations.
- Advise the Board on current and emerging HSEQ laws and best practices.
- Lead regulatory engagement, including HSE notifications and audits.
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage emergency preparedness, spill response plans, and conduct regular drills.
- Perform internal audits and inspections; ensure follow-up and reporting.
Training & Culture Development
- Identify training needs and deliver or coordinate HSEQ training.
- Promote a proactive HSEO culture through communication and leadership
- Evaluate training effectiveness and manage digital training platforms.
Operational & Site Comeliance
- Oversee routine checks (e.g., PAT testing, fire equipment, first aid, waste disposal.
- Maintain and update HSEQ documentation, CDM files, asbestos surveys, and risk registers.
Stakeholder and Subcontractor Engagemen
t
- Manage subcontractor HSEQ compliance.
- Provide HSEQ support and reporting to clients and project teams.
- Prepare and present monthly intemal and client-facing AsEQ performance reports.
Collaboration with HR and Legal
- Work closely with our HR and legal partners to ensure alignment between HSEQ practices and employment policies, regulatory obligations, and organisational risk management.
- Support investigations and processes involving employee wellbeing. disciplinary matters, and regulatory reporting, as required.
General Responsibilities
- Attend meetings, collaborate across departments, and support business objectives.
- Uphold the Company's core values and promote inclusion.
- Undertake any additional duties as directed by the Board.
- Recognised HSEQ qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, BSC, ROSPA).
- Evidence of continued professional development.
Proven experience in HSEQ management, ideally in construction, plant hire, or telecoms.
Experience liaising with regulators and senior leadership.
Familiarity with COM, fire safety, and asbestos regulations.
Skills & AttributesExcellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
Strong auditing, training delivery, and risk assessment capabilities.
Methodical, proactive, and resilient under pressure
Competent in Microsoft Office and digital HSEQ systems.
