PROJECT MANAGER (CONSTRUCTION)
Location:
Greater London (site-based / hybrid depending on project)

Role overview
You will manage the delivery of construction projects across Greater London, coordinating design, commercial, and site teams to ensure safe, high-quality delivery to programme and budget. You’ll run day-to-day site delivery, drive subcontractor performance, and maintain strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day project delivery with the Site Manager, ensuring safe execution and quality standards.
* Coordinate design information release and manage RFIs, technical queries, and design changes.
* Build and manage the programme with the Planner, tracking progress and driving recovery actions.
* Manage subcontractors and direct labour: scope, sequencing, productivity, and quality inspections.
* Support procurement: define work packages, assist tender reviews, and manage supply chain onboarding.
* Maintain project controls and records: reports, trackers, change logs, meeting minutes, and actions.
* Manage client and stakeholder communications; chair progress meetings and escalate risks early.
* Maintain risk register, constraints log, and short-interval planning (look-aheads).
* Ensure compliance with company processes, statutory requirements, and the H&S management system.
* Support commercial control: labour costings, progress valuations, and variation substantiation.
Essential experience / skills
* Main contractor experience delivering projects in the London market.
* Strong working knowledge of construction delivery, design coordination, H&S, and programme control.
* Confident managing multiple subcontractors and interfaces on live sites.
* Excellent reporting and stakeholder management.
* IT literate (MS Office; project controls tools a plus).
Desirable
* Degree/HND in Construction/Engineering/Commercial discipline (advantageous).
* Experience on £10m–£30m projects (or similar complexity).
* SMSTS / First Aid / CSCS (as applicable)
