Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Planner with strong Asta Power project expertise to join our London-based team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, managing, and monitoring project programmes across pre-construction and delivery phases. This role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to interpret drawings, and experience producing detailed tender programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction & Tender Stage

* Prepare detailed tender programmes using Asta Power project.

* Review drawings, specifications, and employer’s requirements to develop accurate construction sequences.

* Identify key milestones, critical path activities, and programme risks.

* Liaise with estimators, bid managers, and design teams to ensure programme alignment with methodology and cost plans.

* Develop logistics strategies and phasing plans for constrained London sites.

* Produce supporting documentation including method statements, phasing diagrams, and programme narratives.

Project Delivery Stage

* Develop and maintain fully resourced construction programmes.

* Monitor progress against baseline programme and update regularly in Asta.

* Conduct critical path analysis and identify mitigation measures where delays occur.

* Attend progress meetings and present programme updates to internal teams and clients.

* Review subcontractor programmes and integrate into the master schedule.

* Assess the impact of variations and change events on programme timelines.

* Prepare delay analysis and extension of time (EOT) submissions where required.

Technical & Coordination

* Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to inform programme sequencing.

* Coordinate with design managers and site teams to ensure buildability and logical sequencing.

* Ensure compliance with contract requirements and reporting standards.

* Support project teams with short-term lookahead programmes and recovery plans.

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Construction Planner within the UK construction industry.

* Strong proficiency in Asta Power project (essential).

* Experience preparing tender programmes for main contractors.

* Ability to interpret and analyse technical drawings and specifications.

* Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.

* Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.

* Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

* Experience working on London-based projects (commercial, residential, mixed-use, or infrastructure preferred).

Desirable

* Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

* Membership or working towards membership of a professional body (e.g., CIOB, APM).

* Experience with 4D planning or BIM integration
