We’re looking for a Market Design Flexibility Advisor (Grade 12) to play a central role in developing and delivering the market design that underpins the Market Facilitator
. You’ll help shape how flexibility markets operate across GB
, supporting a Net Zero, resilient and cost-effective energy system
.

Elexon sits at the heart of the UK wholesale electricity market, administering the Balancing and Settlement Code and coordinating flexibility markets for DSOs and the ESO

Act as a subject matter expert on flexibility markets, advising a wide range of expert stakeholders

Support the design and implementation of the Market Facilitator role

Lead and deliver market design analysis relating to flexibility

Support the transition of flexibility activities from the ENA Open Networks Project

Build strong relationships with DSOs, ESO, Ofgem, DESNZ and service providers

Contribute to industry change, consultations and governance forums

Share knowledge across Elexon and support cross-company initiatives

Strong expertise in flexibility markets and processes

Ability to provide credible, authoritative guidance to senior stakeholders

Excellent analytical, presentation and communication skills

Understanding of the roles of FSPs, DSOs and the ESO

A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities

Broader electricity market or regulatory knowledge

Experience in market design, system operation or flexibility projects

Understanding of how industry change impacts participant systems

Salary – £67,990
