Our client, a major UK consultancy supporting a range of Water company clients, is seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors or Senior Quantity Surveyors to support long‑term programmes of work on the Thames Water framework
.
These roles offer excellent career progression, exposure to high‑value infrastructure projects, and the opportunity to work within a collaborative commercial team. Permanent and freelance applications will be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive commercial support across live projects within the Thames Water capital delivery programme.
- Manage and administer contracts under NEC3 or NEC4
, including ECC Options A, C and
E. - Lead cost control, forecasting, and budget management activities across multiple work packages.
- Prepare and review valuations, applications for payment, cost reports, and change/compensation event submissions.
- Support procurement activities, including subcontractor tendering, negotiation and appointment.
- Maintain robust commercial records to support audit and assurance requirements.
- Prepare and agree final accounts, ensuring best commercial outcomes for the client.
- Provide commercial insight and advice to project managers and senior stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all internal procedures, governance and reporting frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS within utilities, water, infrastructure, or civil engineering - experience working in other heavily regulated sectors will also be considered
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contract suites (or IChemE)
- Experience working within large frameworks or major programmes is highly desirable.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of cost management principles.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
