As part of a dynamic and collaborative commercial team, you’ll be at the centre of complex schemes ranging from large mixed-use developments to state-of-the-art educational and residential projects—each offering the chance to influence commercial strategy, mentor junior staff, and play a pivotal role in shaping project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the full commercial lifecycle on multi-million-pound projects, from early cost planning through to final accounts.
* Manage procurement, tendering, and subcontractor evaluation to ensure value engineering opportunities are maximised.
* Produce accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts, providing clear insight to project leadership.
* Build strong working relationships with site teams, design consultants, and client representatives.
* Oversee and support the development of intermediate and assistant QS team members.
* Ensure all commercial activities align with industry regulations, contractual obligations, and internal financial controls.
What We’re Looking For
* Track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
* Experience on projects £20m+ in value, ideally within central urban settings.
* Strong contractual knowledge (NEC or JCT).
* Excellent commercial acumen with the confidence to challenge, negotiate, and drive efficiencies.
* A collaborative mindset and the ability to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams.
