GVR Solutions are currently working with an established and growing main-contractor based in Chingford, who are looking to appoint a junior estimator to join their team. The business is looking to expand its pre-construction team with an ambitious individual who is keen to develop their estimating career within a supportive environment.

As a business they specialise in projects in the high-end residential, heritage, commercial & hotel sectors.

The Junior Estimator must have/be:

• 1-3 years of experience in estimating or in a commercial role, ideally within main contracting.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisation skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop under the guidance of the senior commercial team.
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks under guidance.
• Some exposure to take-offs, pricing, or tendering processes.
• Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.

Key responsibilities of the Junior Estimator:

• Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Carrying out basic quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Maintaining and updating estimating databases, rates, and cost information.
• Assisting senior estimators with cost planning, budgeting, and tender documentation.
• Supporting the preparation of tender packages and submission documents.
• Ensuring all work is carried out accurately, efficiently, and in line with deadlines.
• Assisting in post-tender clarifications and handover to the commercial/project teams.
