THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to sit at the heart of a growing consultancy team. You will manage costs across a diverse project portfolio from feasibility through to final account, maintain direct client relationships, and play an active role in the continued growth of the business. There is genuine scope for progression into a leadership position for the right person.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage client relationships directly, acting as the primary commercial point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
* Produce robust cost plans, feasibility studies and pre-tender estimates
* Prepare tender packages, bills of quantities and contract documentation
* Oversee cost control, risk management and value engineering across live commissions
* Negotiate contracts, schedules and final accounts with contractors and subcontractors
* Advise clients on claims, disputes and contractual matters as they arise
* Support business development activity and help secure new project commissions
* Mentor and support junior team members
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
* Confident communicator — comfortable liaising directly with clients and design teams
* Strong commercial and numerical acumen
* Able to manage multiple commissions simultaneously without compromising quality
* Proactive, solutions-focused approach under pressure
* Sound understanding of construction contract law and procurement
REQUIREMENTS
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a QS role, ideally within a consultancy environment
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline
* MRICS essential
* Experience across residential, commercial or mixed-use sectors preferred
