This is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Matlock for a Fire Protection Estimator. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing project specifications, preparing competitive cost estimates, and providing accurate project bids. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include analyzing construction documents, collaborating with clients and vendors, estimating project timelines and budgets, managing tender submissions, and assisting in value engineering to ensure cost‑effective and compliant solutions.
Communication with clients and cross‑functional teams will also be a key part of the role to ensure project requirements are met effectively.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong project budgeting and cost estimation skills, along with knowledge of pricing and market trends.
- Familiarity with fire protection systems, including intumescent coatings, fire stopping, and fire door specifications, is highly desirable.
- Experience with software tools for project management, cost estimation, and tender submission.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills to ensure accuracy and efficiency in estimates and proposals.
- Excellent communication and client relationship‑building skills, with a collaborative mindset for teamwork.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- A background in construction, engineering, or fire protection is an advantage, as is knowledge of fire safety regulations in the UK.
