Role Overview

We are seeking to employ an experienced Contracts Manager based in our London Office. The role involves overseeing and managing multiple projects from start to completion, including the defects period.

What You’ll Deliver
  • Ensure that all works are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
  • Have strong communication skills and be able to negotiate with clients, architects, structural engineers and all staff from site workers to directors, in a professional and fair manner.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the client, design team, site managers, subcontractors, suppliers and the general public for the duration of the contract.
  • Prioritise health & safety, working in line with the company’s ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.
  • Produce programme of works for projects – including master programmes down to individual work task items, and monitor and oversee the site manager and project, visiting all projects at least once a week.
  • Bear overall commercial responsibility by ensuring project valuations and practical completion certificates are issued in a timely manner to guarantee swift payments.
About You
  • Experience in managing others and good leadership/people management skills.
  • Good understanding and technical knowledge of the construction industry, including the ability to read architectural drawings and understand the construction process.
  • Ability to construct accurate and realistic construction programmes.
  • Ability to fit in well, work as a team member and have initiative and enthusiasm.
  • Good communication skills and a positive working attitude towards clients and architects.
  • Well‑organised and capable of meeting deadlines.
  • Good math and IT skills, with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Project, Word and Outlook.
  • Good knowledge of the latest health & safety legislation and Building Regulations.
  • Understanding of all aspects of the contracting process and contract law, particularly NEC & JCT contracts.
  • Good commercial sense and experience in decision making.

  • Base Salary up to £65,000 depending upon experience.
