The Quantity Surveyor supports the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager in managing all commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects. The role is responsible for assisting with cost control, procurement, subcontract management, valuations, and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans.
Monitor project costs and identify potential risks and opportunities.
Prepare cost reports and financial forecasts for management review.
Support the valuation and certification of subcontractor payments.
Assist in the preparation of interim applications and final accounts.
Procurement & Subcontract Management
Prepare tender documentation and requests for quotations.
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Assist in the negotiation and appointment of subcontractors.
Maintain accurate records of subcontract agreements and variations.
Monitor subcontractor performance against contractual obligations.
Contract Administration
Assist in administering contracts in accordance with project requirements.
Support the management of variations, claims, and contractual correspondence.
Maintain project records and commercial documentation.
Ensure compliance with contractual procedures and company policies.
Cost Control & Reporting
Track project expenditures against approved budgets.
Assist in the preparation of monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs).
Monitor and report on project cash flow.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
Support the preparation of management reports and commercial updates.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Attend project meetings and provide commercial input.
Support the resolution of commercial and contractual issues.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry.
Experience working on commercial, residential, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
Knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.
Skills & Competencies

Working Conditions
Combination of office-based and site-based work.
May require travel to project sites as needed.
