About our client

Our client is an award-winning, architect-led design and build practice specialising in high-quality private residential renovations and home transformations across North and East London.

As a RIBA Chartered Practice and active contributor to the Federation of Master Builders, the company combines architectural design excellence with construction delivery - challenging the traditional separation between design and build.

This is a practical leadership role. You will spend most of your time on site, leading trades, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining quality standards and helping keep projects running safely, efficiently and on programme.

You will work closely with our Project Managers, inhouse Architects, and Site Managers while remaining actively involved in the build. The role combines skilled carpentry with leadership of site labour, subcontractors and logistics. This role also comes with a very clear progression path, starting as a Working Foreman to Site Manager to Site Team Leader and finally to Director. This role will really suit someone who is looking to progress their career.

Duties
  • Leading day-to-day site operations and coordinating labour and subcontractors
  • Undertaking first and second fix carpentry works where required
  • Maintaining site safety, organisation and quality standards and ensuring health, safety and welfare standards are maintained at all times
  • Reading drawings and setting out works accurately
  • Ordering materials and planning site logistics
  • Solving construction and buildability issues
  • Recording site progress, photos and daily records
  • Supporting quality inspections and snagging
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years UK residential construction experience
  • Trade background (ideally carpentry, others considered)
  • Experience leading site teams
  • Ability to read technical architect and structural engineer drawings and specifications to build and order from
  • Strong understanding of domestic refurbishments, extensions and retrofit projects
  • CSCS Card and a Full UK licence
Desirable to have
  • SSSTS
  • First Aid qualification
  • Working with Listed or Conservation buildings
Benefits
  • 34 days annual leave
  • 4% employer pension contribution
  • Ongoing training and development

If you're an experienced residential construction professional looking for genuine career progression within a high-quality design and build practice, we'd love to hear from you.
