Quantity Surveyor Intern (Summer 2026 Placement)
Ferrovial Construction UK is looking for a Quantity Surveyor Intern to support commercial management and contract administration on our Sewage Treatment Works project, from June to the end of August 2026. The internship is part of the Ferrovial Next Gen Programme, designed to develop personal, professional and technical skills through a blended approach under the supervision of senior quantity surveyors.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in managing the day‑to‑day bill of quantities for allocated project sections to ensure financial efficiencies.
- Analyze tender enquiries, quotations and subcontractor procurement.
- Support subcontractor valuations and cost control in line with business financial systems.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure compliance with financial parameters.
- Assist in the production and monitoring of applications, final accounts, payment certificates, and change control.
- Check agreed subcontract applications and accounts.
- Maintain document control and contribute to the achievement of Health and Safety in accordance with company policy.
- Promote Ferrovial Construction UK values in all external and internal dealings.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact at a variety of levels.
- Excellent written and oral English language proficiency.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a problem‑solving mindset.
- Current student of a Degree or Master’s in Quantity Surveying.
- Motivated to learn, add value to the team, and take a proactive approach.
- Team player with the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Interpersonal skills and a logical, results‑driven mindset.
- High motivation and willingness to learn.
- Right to work in the UK by the start of the internship programme and for its entire duration.
