Estimator - Infrastructure

Job Description

Turner & Townsend are looking to recruit Estimators and Senior Estimators with proven experience across the Infrastructure sector (Rail, Airports, Highways, Power, Water or Utilities). Opportunities are available in our London, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester offices.

Estimators at Turner & Townsend support clients as an embedded resource within their organisations or on ad‑hoc projects for multiple clients across the Infrastructure sector as part of the Turner & Townsend Estimating Hub. Work is predominantly for UK‑based clients, but may involve remote estimating tasks for clients worldwide.

Our team delivers a wide range of Estimating outputs, including:

• Estimate Production (from order‑of‑magnitude to detailed estimates built from first principles)
• Estimating Assurance
• Estimating Support to Major Programme set‑up
• Estimating Data

As an Estimator you will be responsible for:

• Producing accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects in a timely and efficient manner.
• Controlling and managing the estimating process at project level.
• Producing estimates independently without management or supervision.
• Supporting the development and promotion of estimating best practice within Turner & Townsend.
• Assisting in achieving departmental objectives.
• Staying abreast of developments within your technical area of expertise to provide best‑practice advice in line with business objectives.

• Qualified to a high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience.
• Successful experience providing estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment.
• Experience with estimating software packages.
• Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status or working towards it.
• Desirable membership of RICS, CIOB or similar.

SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role and should be adhered to where applicable.
