Assistant Site Manager
Location: London – Kensington Kensal Road
Contract: Full Time, Permanent, 42.5 hours per week Monday – Friday
Salary: up to £38,850 per annum, plus a company van
Mears is delivering the merge contract in partnership with Octavia and Abri, supporting the integration of housing services and investment in residents' homes and communities. The programme focuses on delivering high‑quality planned improvement works, enhancing resident experience and ensuring homes are safe, sustainable and fit for the future.
About the RoleAs an Assistant Site Manager, you will support the successful delivery of refurbishment and planned maintenance projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time and to the highest standards.
- Assist on the day‑to‑day operational delivery of planned work contracts and ensure contractual KPIs are achieved and maintained.
- Check the quality of work in line with building regulations.
- Oversee internal and external works including cyclical works, K&B upgrades, new windows, doors and scaffolding to blocks of flats and working at height.
- Support the monitoring of work programme progression and completion via ongoing site visits and WIP/Post inspections to ensure resources are adequate, delivery meets set quality standards and is on time and within budget.
- Communicate regularly with the line manager on site progress, advising of issues that may impact or change the contract programme in line with company SOP.
- Assist in the management of subcontractors, ensuring compliance with H&S regulations, Mears SOPs, quality assurance accreditations, CDM and other relevant legislation.
- Collect and collate evidence to ensure compliance with H&S and quality requirements.
- SSSTS
- Valid driving licence
- Experience managing, monitoring, recording and reporting of Health & Safety and compliance
- Good technical knowledge of internal or external refurbishment works
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- People‑management with ability to lead and mentor others
- Strong customer focus
- Problem‑solving and results‑oriented mindset
- Planning, programming and organisational skills
- IT literacy with good written and communication skills
It would be advantageous to have experience working on social housing and resident liaison experience, but this is not essential.
