Role DescriptionThis full-time hybrid role is national, with the flexibility to work from any of our offices and from home for part of the week. The Registered Building Inspector will carry out plan checks and site inspections for projects within the Class 2A through F – 3G or H scope, ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations and standards.
Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specifications, issuing technical reports, and advising clients, designers, and contractors on regulatory requirements and best practices.
The role involves monitoring construction progress, identifying and documenting non-compliances, and working with project teams to resolve issues promptly.
The inspector will also contribute to internal quality assurance, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with colleagues and sister companies to support high-quality outcomes for clients.
Qualifications- Registration as a Building Inspector at Class 2A through F – 3G or H, with up-to-date knowledge of UK Building Regulations and associated guidance.
- Experience in building control, building surveying, or a closely related discipline, preferably within an Registered Building Control Approver environment.
- Strong technical skills in reviewing architectural, structural, and fire safety designs, and assessing compliance on-site.
- Ability to communicate clearly with clients, designers, contractors, and colleagues, both in writing and verbally.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for report writing, record keeping, and remote collaboration.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., degree or diploma in Building Control, Building Surveying, Construction, or Engineering) and membership of an appropriate professional body is desirable.
