Estimating Manager in East

Overview

A well-established and growing principal contractor is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead its pre‑construction estimating function. Operating across refurbishment, leisure, commercial and construction projects, the business has built a strong reputation for quality delivery, professional service and long‑standing client relationships. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of secured and tendered work, we are looking for an ambitious estimator to play a key role in winning future projects.

• Produce accurate, competitive and commercially robust tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and handover.
• Lead the tender process, undertake take‑offs, manage subcontractor enquiries and prepare cost plans and budgets.
• Conduct tender reviews and oversee successful project handovers.
• Attend client meetings, support value engineering exercises and mentor junior members of the estimating team.
• Collaborate closely with pre‑construction, operational and commercial teams.

• Proven track record in estimating within the construction sector.
• Experience managing complex tenders from inception through to submission.
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Experience preparing detailed cost plans on traditional and design & build contracts.
• Leadership of tender review meetings and a collaborative approach to mentoring and developing junior team members.

Salary negotiable and circa £100,000 + package with a flexible benefits allowance which can be used towards a company car, private healthcare and other benefits.
