Job DescriptionAssistant Quantity Surveyor
Are you interested in quantity surveying and construction cost management? This could be your opportunity to excel, playing a vital role in supporting SOCOTEC’s continued success. As SOCOTEC grows, so do our teams. We’re looking for a dedicated Assistant QS to join our Advisory division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible assistant to join our Quantity Surveying team. In this role, you’ll need the confidence to work independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. A background in construction and quantity surveying, along with knowledge of Methods of Measurement and standard Contract Forms, is essential to thrive in this position.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
- Preparing budget estimates, cost plans and tender documents
- Post‑contract valuation, cost report and final account negotiations
- Measure and scale off from drawings and use CostX software
To be a successful you should be able to demonstrate:
- Willingness to work on secondment and proactive in personal development
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills with competence in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Enthusiastic, keen to learn new skills, gain hands on experience and achieve formal qualifications
