This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to build a long-term career in Building Surveying within a forward-thinking and innovative environment where their ideas will be valued. Responsibilities of the Building Surveyor:
Deliver a broad range of building surveying services across multiple sectors and projects
Undertake and lead condition surveys, measured surveys, defect diagnosis and technical due diligence
Prepare detailed reports, specifications, schedules of work and technical documentation
Manage and deliver project management and contract administration duties
Lead refurbishment, maintenance and small-to-medium capital projects from inception through to completion
Act as a key point of contact within multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery
Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and environmental standards across all projects
Requirements
Degree in Building Surveying or related discipline (RICS-accredited preferred)
Progressing towards or recently achieved professional membership (e.g. MRICS)
Proven experience in building surveying within a consultancy or similar environment
Strong understanding of building pathology, construction processes and statutory compliance
Experience in project management and contract administration across pre- and post-contract stages
Good working knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT, NEC)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, Revit or similar tools advantageous
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good organisational skills
