We are currently seeking a Senior Site Engineer to join our team on The Capston (EG AO1), a flagship construction project within our growing portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious construction professional looking to develop their career within a dynamic and high-performing project team.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of construction works on site, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. You will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress, maintaining quality assurance processes and supporting the day-to-day management of construction operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage contractors' daily activities and coordinate works with other trades on site.
- Take particular responsibility for the management of Health & Safety and site logistics.
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings, record minutes and update relevant project information.
- Support the Project Manager in managing contractor packages from commencement through to completion.
- Undertake Quality Assurance inspections and checks to ensure works are delivered to the required standards.
- Inspect construction works for compliance with drawings, specifications, regulations and industry standards.
- Facilitate the flow of information between design teams and contractors, including management of Requests for Information (RFIs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Review design information and drawings to assess constructability ahead of works commencing on site.
- Produce progress reports and photographic records, keeping management informed of project status and assigned tasks.
- Provide technical support and engineering input to construction activities.
- Supervise and monitor temporary works, ensuring compliance with approved designs and relevant procedures.
- Ensure permits, including permit to load, permit to strike and hot works permits, are correctly implemented and managed.
- Maintain accurate daily records, including site diaries, photographs and reports covering:
- Health and safety
- Quality and environmental matters
- Construction progress
- Technical decisions and changes
- Labour and equipment utilisation
- Deliveries and significant site events
- Provide guidance, support and oversight to contractors where required.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- SMSTS qualification.
- First Aid qualification.
- Temporary Works qualification/knowledge.
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification site-based construction experience.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, health and safety practices and quality management processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
