LondonA leading UK demolition, remediation, and civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Senior Estimator to join its Infrastructure and Civils team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced estimator to play a key role in securing major infrastructure and civil engineering tenders across the UK.
The Role As Senior Estimator, you will lead the preparation of competitive, accurate, and commercially sound tenders for infrastructure and civil engineering projects, ranging from groundworks and enabling works through to major civils schemes. You’ll work closely with the pre-construction, bid, and operational teams to develop winning submissions from initial enquiry through to contract award.
Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for infrastructure and civil engineering tenders, including groundworks, drainage, remediation, and enabling works
Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope, risk, and opportunity
Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
Build strong, accurate pricing models and bills of quantities
Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal operational teams throughout the tender process
Identify and price risk, method statements, and programme considerations
Contribute to value engineering and alternative design proposals
Support the compilation of high-quality tender submissions and presentations
Mentor and support junior estimators within the team About You Substantial estimating experience within infrastructure, civil engineering, or demolition/remediation sectors
Strong understanding of NEC/JCT contracts and civil engineering measurement (CESMM)
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial acumen
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and supply chain partners
Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline (degree or equivalent experience)
Full UK driving licence
