The COSS plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of construction sites and railway projects. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating safety measures to safeguard the well-being of our employees, contractors, and the public. This role involves collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and safety teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities :- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments on construction sites.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all railway and construction safety regulations.
- Provide guidance and training to site personnel on safety practices.
- Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Collaborate with project managers to establish safe work methods and schedules.
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Review construction plans and identify potential safety hazards.
- Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry safety standards and regulations.
- Proven experience as a COSS for atleast 1 year.
- A valid COSS certification.
- Knowledge of railway safety regulations and standards (e.g., Network Rail standards).
- Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to conduct safety training and deliver safety briefings.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in emergency situations.
- Familiarity with safety management software and tools.

Salary: £32,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
