Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a role with genuine commercial responsibility? A leading UK construction and property services organisation is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the successful commercial delivery of projects across its portfolio.
Working closely with the Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll focus on maximising project margin, controlling commercial risk and maintaining strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.
The Role As the Quantity Surveyor, you’ll:
Manage the commercial aspects of assigned projects or work streams.
Maximise planned gross margin and support overall project profitability.
Tender, evaluate and appoint subcontractors and consultants.
Manage material and plant orders within agreed commercial controls.
Identify, negotiate and agree contract variations with clients and suppliers.
Measure and value works, supporting accurate customer invoicing and supplier payments.
Manage project cash flow, valuations and commercial reporting.
Identify contractual, commercial and operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigation.
Support the resolution of contractual disputes and commercial issues.
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the wider supply chain.
Monitor project performance, reporting on costs, risks and commercial outcomes. You To be successful in the Quantity Surveyor role, you’ll bring:
Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or within a similar commercial construction role.
A Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying would be desirable.
Strong understanding of commercial management, valuations, subcontract procurement and cost control.
Good contractual and commercial awareness.
Confidence communicating with clients, multidisciplinary teams and supply chain partners.
Strong numerical, organisational and analytical skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant commercial systems.
