Assistant Project Manager

A specialist civil engineering contractor focused on the maintenance and rehabilitation of water and wastewater networks is looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join their team in East London.

This is a varied role supporting front-end project execution and ongoing coordination across multiple active projects, working across both office and field environments to ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and documentation remains accurate throughout.

Responsibilities for Assistant Project Manager:

• Assist with pre-bid activities including document review, scope coordination, and bid preparation
• Support estimating efforts by gathering quantities, vendor quotes, and subcontractor information
• Set up and maintain project files, ensuring all documentation is organised and accessible
• Assist with contract review and administration, tracking key terms, deliverables, and timelines
• Support project planning and execution working closely with Project Managers and Operations teams
• Monitor project budgets, support cost tracking, and flag variances as they arise
• Review invoices, change orders, and cost estimates for accuracy and alignment with project scope
• Act as liaison between field crews, customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
