Highways Inspector - East London - £28.57 per hour umbrella
An East London Local Authority is looking for an experienced Highways/Streetworks Inspector to monitor utility and contractor works, ensuring compliance with NRSWA, permit conditions, traffic management requirements and local highway standards.
The Role
Inspect road, pavement and street works and assess reinstatements.
Monitor permits, traffic management, signage and site safety.
Identify defects and non-compliance and support enforcement, including Fixed Penalty Notices.
Investigate complaints relating to roadworks and highway occupation.
Support TTROs, Temporary Traffic Notices, road closures, events and filming.
Liaise with utilities, contractors, highways teams and the public.
Record inspections using GIS and street works management systems.
Requirements
Previous highways/street works inspection experience.
NRSWA Street Works Supervisor accreditation.
Lantra Sector 12D.
Good knowledge of NRSWA, permit schemes and highway regulations.
Strong communication and report-writing skills.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to work outdoors
