Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Digital Construction Planner - 4D to take a leading role in the development, implementation and delivery of 4D planning across a major construction programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for a digital construction professional who combines strong construction planning knowledge with advanced 4D, BIM and modelling capability.
Sitting at the intersection of planning, design, BIM and construction delivery, you will integrate project programmes with 3D design models to create intelligent 4D simulations that clearly demonstrate how the project will be constructed over time.
Working closely with Project Planners, Design Managers, BIM teams, construction teams and specialist trade contractors, you will use 4D technology to challenge construction sequences, improve buildability, identify potential risks and communicate complex programmes visually.
If you are passionate about digital construction and want to play an influential role in how a major project is planned and delivered, this is an excellent opportunity.
What You’ll Be DoingAs Senior Digital Construction Planner - 4D, you will take a leading role in the project's 4D planning strategy and associated digital workflows.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the implementation and development of 4D planning strategies, standards and workflows.
- Integrate 3D design models with project programmes to create detailed 4D construction sequences and simulations.
- Work closely with Project Planners to validate programme sequences and ensure 4D outputs accurately represent the construction strategy.
- Establish, develop and manage the project's master 4D model.
- Analyse programmes and construction sequences, identifying constraints, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Produce visual progress reporting, forecasts and look-ahead simulations comparing planned versus actual progress.
- Work closely with Design, BIM and Digital Construction teams to ensure agreed 3D/4D protocols are followed.
- Coordinate and incorporate information from specialist contractors and third parties into the 4D model.
- Develop 4D visualisations covering construction logistics, including temporary works, access routes, vehicle movements, tower cranes and site logistics.
- Use 4D modelling to assess buildability, sequencing and construction methodology, identifying opportunities to improve project efficiency.
- Support construction teams with clear visual representations of upcoming works and complex construction activities.
- Collaborate with trade contractors to develop detailed 4D models for complex packages and areas.
- Lead the coordination and production of 4D animations, simulations and video outputs for project stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain appropriate quality procedures for 4D planning and digital construction.
- Stay ahead of developments in 4D planning, BIM, digital construction and emerging construction technologies.
- Mentor and support less experienced team members, helping develop digital planning capability across the wider project team.
- Ensure health, safety and CDM requirements are appropriately considered throughout the planning and modelling process.
We are looking for someone who can combine strong construction and planning knowledge with advanced digital capability.
You will ideally have:
- Significant experience within the construction industry, with strong exposure to project planning and construction sequencing.
- Proven experience developing and managing 4D models on major construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodology across both the design…
