Role DescriptionThe Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide end-to-end cost management support for a diverse portfolio of construction and refurbishment projects. This full-time, on-site role is based in the London Area, United Kingdom, and involves preparing detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents, as well as reviewing designs and specifications to ensure accurate pricing. Daily responsibilities include monitoring project costs, updating cost plans and reports, identifying value engineering opportunities, and advising project teams on budget risks and mitigation strategies.
The role also includes close collaboration with estimators, project managers, and clients, participation in meetings, and maintaining clear documentation to support commercial decisions.
- Strong cost planning and cost management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain project budgets.
- Expertise in cost control and cost reporting to track financial performance and support commercial decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing BOQs and other detailed estimating documentation.
- Professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, refurbishments, or related sectors.
- Proficiency with estimating and QS software tools, and strong Excel skills.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex cost information to stakeholders.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management; chartered status (MRICS or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in the London Area, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
