Highways Inspector - East London - £28.57 per hour umbrella
An East London Local Authority is looking for an experienced Highways/Streetworks Inspector to monitor utility and contractor works, ensuring compliance with NRSWA, permit conditions, traffic management requirements and local highway standards.
The Role- Inspect road, pavement and street works and assess reinstatements.
- Monitor permits, traffic management, signage and site safety.
- Identify defects and non-compliance and support enforcement, including Fixed Penalty Notices.
- Investigate complaints relating to roadworks and highway occupation.
- Support TTROs, Temporary Traffic Notices, road closures, events and filming.
- Liaise with utilities, contractors, highways teams and the public.
- Record inspections using GIS and street works management systems.
- Previous highways/street works inspection experience.
- NRSWA Street Works Supervisor accreditation.
- Lantra Sector 12D.
- Good knowledge of NRSWA, permit schemes and highway regulations.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to work outdoors
