We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee the day-to-day logistics and site operations across residential construction projects, ensuring materials, plant, labour and deliveries are coordinated safely and efficiently.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Managers and subcontractors, you will take responsibility for keeping the site organised, accessible and running to programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning and managing all site logistics from mobilisation through to completion
* Coordinating deliveries, vehicle movements, unloading and material storage
* Managing site access, traffic management, loading areas and pedestrian routes
* Coordinating cranes, hoists, forklifts, MEWPs and other site plant
* Managing material movements around site to ensure trades have what they need when required
* Working closely with Site Managers and subcontractors to coordinate daily and weekly logistics requirements
* Managing delivery schedules and avoiding clashes, congestion and unnecessary downtime
* Maintaining organised and safe storage of materials across the site
* Coordinating waste removal, skips, recycling and general site housekeeping
* Supporting site set-up, welfare facilities, hoarding, temporary works and site accommodation
* Ensuring logistics arrangements comply with health & safety requirements and the site logistics plan
About You
* Previous experience as a Logistics Manager within residential construction
* Experience working on new-build housing, apartments, high-end residential or similar projects
* Strong understanding of busy construction site environments and sequencing of trades
* Confident coordinating multiple subcontractors, deliveries and site activities simultaneously
* Good knowledge of construction logistics, plant and material handling
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate and resolve logistical issues before they impact the programme
* Good understanding of construction health & safety requirements
* Relevant site/logistics qualifications such as CPCS, CSCS or equivalent would be advantageous
